Big tesla coil at quarter speed slow motion

Part of one of my Nottingham 2011 videos that is slowed down by a factor of four.
Nice streamer formation can easily be seen at this speed.

My question is, what uses does this Tesla Coil of yours have?

It looks cool & everything but can the electricity generated here be used to power your entire city street or is there some limitation?

Pleas reply with the practical uses your particular device has...also, how it generates that energy.

Disclosure: I've googled & googled but found no satisfactory answers to my 2 questions.

what is the ceiling material? Isn't this a potential fire hazard (although I see the fire extinguisher...). Good posting.
