“‘Did you shag him?’ said Hermes. ‘I wouldn’t worry about that. Everybody shags him. Even I’ve shagged him. That was during a very boring decade. Oops, nearly missed my turn.’”

It's the film industry. They're quite incapable of letting a good story rest on its own merrits. That's why I almost hope they never do the Belgariad or the Fionavar Tapestry despite the fact that I do think both would make excelent films. And I'm surprised Phillips isn't insisting they keep the setting where it belongs. If I wrote a book and someone wanted to make a movie out of it I'd insist on their staying true to it as much as possible.

Okay so just read they are changing the setting to America...gods, why do they do that? I'm excited about this movie, but i'm afraid they are going to destroy it. I mean, come on, sharon stone as aphrodited? Maybe 20 years ago! Gods should look young and perfect. So excited to see this movie, but would be more excited for another book!

Daniel Craig can't be Apollo, he's way too old, a younger actor would be better, and also he is a God so I have pretty high expectations for him. Also he's just so cynical and that somehow makes him even more attractive, it is just my opinion I fell completely in love with him when I read the book. I think Kellan Lutz would be perfect, also Brant Daugherty, Paul Walker(Not as young as the first ones), Ian Somerhalder would be good too. Bradley Cooper would be a good Hermes.

I think Bradley Cooper could've been either Apollo or Hermes.

A great great book, I loved it! I think a young Brad Pitt with longish hair would have been the perfect Apollo though...
