  • good vid. I have a question. on the mowers that have the port where you connect a garden hose to clean out the deck, do you do that while it is running or when its turned off?

  • @pivotboy63 yes when it is running

  • I followed your video instructions, saved my TORO mower, which stopped after running for about 20 - 30 seconds. I was about to give it up after trying everything I could (changing air filter, oil, gas) until I discovered your video. Step by step instruction in such great details helped me tremendously. I opened up the carburetor and sprayed clean it, changed a new fiber washer. Now it runs like new. THANK YOU VERY MUCH. You are a hero!!!

  • thank you sooo much !!!!!!

  • It makes me sad that Tecumseh went under, always found them to be simple to work on. Never have found many problems with their gravity fed carbs except the ones with removable plastic emulsion tubes, the emulsion tube o-rings deteriorate badly, probably from the ethanol they blend into gas these days.

  • I can't stand how people just leave their lawnmowers setting up all winter without stabilizing the gas!!!

  • @rshi1972 IF YOU NEED PARTS CHECK OUT RONCO CENTER . COM

  • After spending many hours and dollars trying to fix my mower, I noticed that the washer for the screw that holds on the cup on the carburator was worn and split.

1 trip to home depot and $.72 later, I think I found the culprit. Mower seems to run without stopping now. But we shall see.

  • My 6.5 HP Toro had the small hole by the threads of the main jet plug up. Cleaned it with a wire and it has run fine for three years!

  • Most likely your combustion chamber will need cleaning as well after viewing that spark plug.

  • @ahfongul either the little needle slipped off the float or you need to replace the "float seat". What's happening is when the bowl on the carb fills with fuel, and the float rises to the top of the bowl it should be forcing that needle up with it eventually closing the fuel inlet. Yours is not and therefore gas fills the bowl and then flows into the carb and out through the vent tube into your filter. Just get a needle and needle seat kit (about $10.00) and install it. Simple fix.

  • @ahfongul the needle might be stuck. you might want to replace kit #631021b, also shake the float to make sure there is no gas inside
