I have been given a rare film that shows the last of the Trolley buses around the city of Derby, Derbyshire.
I would like to hear from people if they have seen this footage before as it looks like there should be more footage than this.
Even though the film is about the Trolley buses I I am more interested in the background, trying to work out the locations. I have watched it several times now and find it facinating.
Here are some I have recognised, see if you can..
00.04 Normaton Road near Melbourne Street.
00.07 Ashbourne Road towards Markeaton.
00.14 Markeaton Island and Ashbourne road and A52.
00.45 A52 turning off to Mackworth estate.
01.25 Looking up Near top of Babington Lane, the Progressive Buildings are on the left and the Serbian Orthodox Church - Ss. Peter and Paul (Normanton Road) can be seen in the background.
01.28 Bottom of Babington Lane
01.45 Top of Babington Lane/Normaton Road bend.
01.54 Top of Normaton Road.
01.58 Passing the old Trocadero Cinema.
02.04 Going up Normanton Road.
02.13 Going down Normanton Road.
02.30 Pear tree Road.
02.35 New the Vulcan Pub.
03.04 St Thomas Road, Pear Tree pub on right.
03.10 Balaclava Road?
03.25 Osmaston Park Road?
06.36 Corn Market
07.12 Turning onto Victoria street.
07.45 Friar Gate
08.00 Markeaton Island
