  • you had a colostomy surgery..

  • @alikn1 Actually, I had a colectomy, meaning they removed my colon. A colostomy is made from the colon, which is now impossible for me to have. I had an ileostomy, made from the small intestine.

  • When you say that you really didn't like the catheter was it constantly painful or just not wanted

  • @sensboy1 Not really too painful, but uncomfortable definitely. Not to get too graphic, but if the "stiffness" changes even a little, such as when sleeping, it gets uncomfortable very fast, especially considering that they tape the catheter to the thigh, giving it little room to move around.

  • How long were you in the hospital and was the surgery risky?

  • @HERE2TOSSyourSALAD Surgery always has some element of risk. The first surgery was the most serious, second surgery was the most difficult, third surgery was relatively mild. Check out my other surgery vids to get a better idea.

    First hospital stay: 3 nights

    2nd: 4 nights

    3rd: 2 nights

Though some people stay in as long as a week, it all depends on the doctors and surgeon, and how well surgery goes.

  • hola, nuevamente quiero preguntarte algo, la herida se cierra sola o hay que operarla???

  • If you have Crohn's a J-Pouch doesn't necessarily get rid of your symptoms, since Crohn's can show up again in other parts of the intestine. Usually Crohn's patients have the surgery when their colon becomes so infected that it's dangerous to keep living with it. But if you aren't having any symptoms, I wonder about the necessity of surgery at this time.

  • Out of curiosity, this is a reply to your takedown day2 surgery, I have both Crohns and UC once you have the J Pouch is there no worry of a flare up, I have been continuously ill for over 21/2yrs after being symptom free for 4yrs, im just wondering if the J Pouch would rid me of symptoms or flareups, do you think that it was worth all the pain from having the surgeries? any insights you could give me would be much appreciated, Private Message if you want too, x

  • That is good if u have no more flare ups...
