Allied anti submariner technology eventually won. The allies just had more engineers, scientists&greater production capacity. US Navy submarines conducted the only successful submarine campaign against Japan because of it's industrial capacity & the Japs ignored the submarine threat until it was to late. British subs in the Mediterranean had great success which is largely ignored by history because it was never going to win the war. Dutch & RN subs in the Indian Ocean also achieved a lot.
