Little Jeannie" is a song by Elton John and Gary Osborne, recorded by Elton John and released as a single in 1980, and also on that year's album 21 at 33. It reached number 3 on the Billboard charts in the United States, becoming Elton John's biggest US hit since 1976's "Don't Go Breaking My Heart", and his highest-charting solo hit since 1975's "Island Girl". The song can be described as an uptempo ballad.
If I never heard another song for the rest of my life I can honestly say this song does it for me. In my top 5 favorite of all Elton songs.

Brings me back to Des Moines, Iowa. I was spending the summer in the homes of Vietnamese and Laotian refugee families. I had a little clock radio. Little Jeannie came on the radio so much--i was so excited every time i heard it. It was a summer of Vietnam and Laos in Iowa, LIttle Jeannie and Michael Jackson's She's Out of My Life!

In the summer of 1980 i remember me and my friend went the fair and we meet two girls and one was named Gina and i dedacated this song to her then i remember when she moved away i would always hear this song on the radio and i would think of her and i being together she was as beautiful as this song.

been listening to the soul soothing lyrics and musical craft that is "Elton John"..for the last two hours..and I haven't stopped crying..I'm building a time machine..and I'm going back to the times..where we jammed dimes and quarters into the jukebox..to hear his songs over and over and over..and I ain't fuckin' ever coming back..thanks for the memories Elton..as pitifully pathetic as it sounds..thanks for the memories..Mike from Canada xo
