if you know or did get this in retail price. how much was this when it came out 2007 i believe? and how much was the T60p brand new when it first came out?? thanks in advance.

@oceantrolls73 does it accept 4gb? I thought 3GB was the max? What model for ram is the cheapest if you can link it.

@macroecon So is Windows 7 worth using on this performance wise or Windows XP? I have 1GB now but I want to install 4GB or at least 2GB to really make good use of it. I also think I might need to change the HDD from the stock 80gb one. What kind of HDD does it require? A standard 2.5in one? Thanks for your help

one of the best laptops made. The T60. I am using one with 4GB RAM and WIN7 and it has never pulled any issues for the past year. None. Saw a used one for today for USD 200... will pick one up later in the month hopefully.
I just got this 5 days ago and it is a Type 2007 version with ATI graphics. Can you help me find a replacement battery for this that is genuine and new? And RAM?

@2fast4uspartan I am not sure if Lenovo sells new battery for this anymore, but if you type in the model number of your battery on their website than you can see if they still have it (sorry I don't know the model number for the battery anymore). As for the RAM, the T60 uses DDR2 SO-DIMM (up to 2 sticks total), so you can buy them from any retailers like Newegg. Just be aware that due to a hardware limitation it will only support up to 3GB.

I'm looking for the cheapest notebook (but not planning to buy) and I've found out that this laptop is one of the cheapest notebooks with the price of $219.99... Am I correct?
NoFaceChannel 11 months ago
@NoFaceChannel Hmm, not sure if $219.99 is the cheapest price out there for a cheap notebook, but if you can find a good condition T60 for that price then it certainly sounds like a good deal.

one of the best machines to have but nowadays Lenovo doesn't make the ThinkPad quality nowadays.
akonaito1 1 year ago
@akonaito1 Yeah, I think for some Thinkpad models that's true. While you might still be able to get Thinkpad quality if you purchase the higher end T410s or X201s, some of their lower end models, for example the Thinkpad Edge 14/15, no longer have all of the essential qualities that makes Thinkpad such a standout laptop. However, since most of their models are much less expensive than before, maybe for some people the trade off is worth it.
