Less than a month before the second Irish referendum on the Lisbon Treaty, Jerzy Buzek, President of the European Parliament, paid a visit to Ireland, to "explain some misunderstandings and answer questions."

On the fact that no internal matters should interfere in the debate on Lisbon Treaty, that shod be truthful and honest. Irish referendum is about Irelands place in Europe

  • Disgusting! These Eurocrats are making me sick, weaseling their way into Ireland without the Irish peoples consent.

  • stare dziady!!

    y

  • There was a landslide yes vote yesterday. Time now for Ireland to move on and engage with Europe under the - soon to be adopted Lisbon rules. That's the new reality (which even Declan Ganley would appear to have accepted).

  • pass the sick bucket please. I am sick of having US multinational companies telling us what way they would like us to vote. Brian Cowan telling us right before the media debate blackout that there will not be another Lisbon, this is it. The list of bull is endless. We are taking advice from the same people that lent us all the money in the first place. Bail out the banks and let them walk away. The EU is demanding a yes vote from us. We are not leaving EU did he clarify that one!

  • If anyone comes here to campaign for a no vote the government and politicians complain but if someone comes here to help the yes side they get on the news, meet the taoiseach etc.

VOTE NO! our Democracy is in danger!

  • That was pro yes.

"I'm not here to campaign for a yes or no" ....... "this vote is about Ireland sending a message about it's place in Europe"

Let me translate... "I'm here to make you say yes, but I can't do that by straight talking, so I'm going to make you think that saying no will put you at a disadvantage when other countries move ahead."

Of course, a two tiered EU isn't possible, because it would need unanimous ratification.

This vote is about EU direction, it will apply to all states

  • I couldn't agree more! I hope the Irish give a BIGGER NO this time!

  • ireland has already been asked and the brilliant people defended their island by voting NO, why are they being asked again? they said no and the EU should stop now! the lisbon treaty has been defeated, STOP SHOVING IT DOWN EVERYONES THROADS EUROCRATS!

  • Can you explain what you mean a little more?
