Scientists on Svalbard near the North Pole are drilling one kilometre into the ground where they hope to store carbon dioxide, given off by a coal-fired power station. The project is part of a new wave of technology designed to cut greenhouse gas emissions and combat global warming. Duration: 02:32.
what a waste of time and money to deal with products from an ineffiecient polluting energy source.
just switch to solar, wind, geothermal and hydrogen and skip all the pollution you are spending time and money to store underground.
oil companies must be financing this ridiculous and expensive storage scheme as a public relations stunt.

its not going to bother the environment , it dose what it dose ,how ever the sudden ice age it may cause with the rise of oxygen producing bio masses may pot most of the heavenly populated areas under a few 100 ft of ice , the feeding of such bio masses to increase the up take of carbon may prove a much more cost efficient way as such a bio mass could cause an increase of fish and other sea life ,,,,
