Great video, brother! Yours is the only "how to" that includes the mathematics for G-domes that I was able to find. Much appreciated!

Thanks.

@batranulgeo Why use 1.0224? Because its not on a flat surface. If you make the rays a little longer than the sides then you have to bend the rays at an angle from the middle to get the sides to touch each other. Don't you see Jack? That's the beauty of it!

If N = 40' then your dome would be big enough to hold a couple football fields. Side issue. I just realized that using a soccer ball you see the beauty of the geodesic dome. The pentagons are smaller than the hexagons but the sides are the same length. An elegant solution to designing a dome or sphere.

Hi! If you allow me: If you sign hexagon in a circle you will notice that the length of a side of the hexagon is equal to the radius. How? Well, if we trace rays, we get six equilateral triangles: the center angle is 60 degrees (360 / 6 = 60), the triangle is isosceles (equal sides together and radius), this means that the angles at the base are equal,120 degrees / 2 = 60. QED: the triangle is equilateral. Then why you say that segments within the hexagon are equal to N multiplied by 1.0224?

Ha its built on a trampoline.
You're great. Cheers.
Why not just build a concrete dome house with the air balloons?

Great explanations so far!! I love your entertaining enthusiasm! Heading to the next vid now!

do we have to be on drugs to do it?
LOL what is up with the latest comments here? Anywho. LOVE your videos. xD
