  • The Aeneid was not written by Homer, but was written by Virgilius about 700 years. The emperor Julius Augustus told him to write the Aeneid to show that he was somehow related to the Trojans.

  • yep we knew that, homer "of which I wrote 2 of the 3 books, damn you Virgil"

  • Hay Guys, Thanks for the laugh. I'm currently reading Homer for a seminar and needed a motivational break. I love that picture of the dog at the beginning. What a hoot!

  • There's nothing wrong with saying that my English is more than competent. My original criticism of the video related to 'Homer' being the creator of the Iliad and Odyssey; regardless of whether or not 'he' wrote down these stories, they are the product of a long tradition of orally performed poetry and the imagination of others before him. Credit where credit is due!
