With this video you can see how a human arm is constructed from a sphere, 2 cylinders and a cup

Once you have learned how to draw simple shapes it makes drawing complex objects far easier. Although the rough sketch is diagrammatic, it does show the basic form of an upper arm, elbow, forearm and cupped hand.

By smoothing the joins between the cylinders, ball and cup with shading you are beginning to see something that makes the arm look realistic... It isn't perfect but you do start to get the idea.

Now you are confident with drawing simple objects, take a look at the rest of your own body. Try to break down each part into simple shapes think of it in terms of balls and cylinders.
