I like this game as well.I have it on a compilation game for the PS2.This cheat works on that too.I've only done the cheat a couple of times.I presume it depends on what birds you destroy in the formation.Great cheat to get a high score though!

The original arcade cabinets with these classic games will probably fetch a fortune in a few more decades. The supply is limited and demand will only go up.

Great game. Excellent video and nice trick. This is one of the few old games I play on MAME. This and Defender/Defender 2/Stargate.

That trick is not easy to do. And it doesn't always seem to work. But I have pulled it off a small number of times. The best times to try it are either the 2 wave (rapid fire) or on the mothership level, where birds attack in bunches.
The sound is completely different on MAME than the Phoenix arcade machines I remember (and the one I own).

This tryck will work always, if u get 3 birds at the same time.

I had heard that the gist of the trick was to get 3 birds flying diagonally in 2 seconds, which does not always yield the 200,000 point bonus. Maybe it's within 1 second..?
The machine I own is the original Centuri/Amstar 1980, it has different sounds for enemy explosions, and different background music during the egg and mothership stages.
