Originally aired Sunday, September 6, 2009 on WWOR-TV New York. Video credit: MDA. Tony sings Candida, Knock Three Times and He Don't Love You Like I Love You with Toni Wine, The Lefty Brothers Band, Giovanna Drpic (in the green dress!) and Russ Salzberg (the guy who interviews me).
This was such a blast to do! Please visit my website at http://www.mdactkids.org and help me send more kids to camp next year - and here's a special letter I received from Jerry Lewis for my work with MDA.
Here is what many of you have been waiting for. Before I give you the link to my appearance on the telethon, I would like to with all of you a letter I received after the telethon from Jerry Lewis. The letter is on a glass encased and matted plaque, and was originally written on November 5, 2008. Here is what my idol had to say to me:

Dear James:
I've heard wonderful reports of the outstanding leadership and support that you've provided on behalf of the Muscular Dystrophy Association. I salute you for your commitment to helping people with neuromuscular diseases. Thank you for your dedication and unwavering commitment to MDA. Your efforts over the years at our Stamford pledge center have helped the Telethon continue to reach new levels of success every year.
The funds raised through your efforts supports the Association's vital research and services programs. In addition to a cutting edge scientific effort and a comprehensive program of medical services, your assistance helps make it possible for youngsters with muscle disorders to spend a fun filled week at MDA's local summer camp.
Your enthusiasm for the Association's mission has been a great model for others to follow and has contributed to the success of MDA's programs. Words cannot fully express how much I appreciate your exemplary work on behalf of children and adults with muscle diseases in the Hudson Valley area.
You've demonstrated that great things can be accomplished when we team up together to defeat muscle diseases. Thanks again for helping "my kids" and I hope we can count on your continued support until victory over these disorders is realized.
God bless you...
Love,
Jerry
