This is an unscripted desktop review of the ZT 301. I rate this blade a 92% with the only deductions being the weight and slightly less than perfect edge. I'm taking this blade on a two week adventure in Canada and Alaska and needed to have a sub-4" folding knife with "top of category" strength. This is the one I chose and you'll hear the reasons why in this review. Along the way I'll pull out several comparison knives on certain talking points. Enjoy, comment, even subscribe if you find the review helpful.

  • This is the best and most comprehensive ZT300 review on the web! Great work.

  • @mongomondomongo Very kind of you!!! I really appreciate the encouragement!

  • Love that third way of opening, the "flip." I'd never seen that demonstrated so clearly before. Well done.

  • @johnnybrew Ah, excellent man! I'm glad that it was evident since I kinda pride myself on being detailed. Thanks for watching!

  • Great vid - I am trying to decide between a zt 300 and a cold steel lawman. It would be a 4 inch large tactical folder for weekend carry.

My benchmade griptilian is my good to edc. Plus some beater sydercos.

  • @kenshomi2 Thank you! I'm almost certain that you'll be happy with either knife. Both get high reviews.

  • Nice review. Thanks

  • @Patriot36 Understandable. Thanks.

  • @mrttou No worries buddy...In general, no folder should ever be subjected to batoning. That said, if I had to utilize this technique in order to get the job done in a true survival situation, I wouldn't hesitate. I suspect that it would handle a fair amount of this due to it's build quality. It really depends on the severity of the batoning action though.

  • I like to look at knives for survival use. New to the all of it but like to be prepared. Do you feel that this knife will stand up to batoning (I think that's the term). I haven't gotten a lot of info on whether that is acceptable use on any folding knife. Excuse the noobness ha ha. Thanks.

Any other thoughts will be appreciated.
