Yup...They built quite a few this way. I've seen several new ones around the Dayton/Cinci area...from the factory with these. I tend to think someone at the factory heard them and went 'wow'. I can have them swap them out for something else as part of their special deal...but I'm a bit paranoid...don't want to ruin the mojo.

Hey nice sound with those pickups. It seems to get the strat sound a little better then my Mira which does get a good strat sound. It does sound however as though you have lost the Tele bridge sound that the stock Mira seems to do very well. It may just be how you have set up the amp and volume tone on the guitar. Maybe you could comment on that? Where or how did you get the Starla pickups PRS does not have them listed for sale. Great demo keep it up!

The Starla pickups definitely change the guitar. I a/b'd this with a standard Mira. It was 'more polite' than this guitar. I am dead serious about this having a unique take on tones. I just did some studio tracking with it. I would put it up against my father in law's 56 Tele...which I tracked before.  The tone roll off via lowering the volume is more sensitive with this as well. So dropping the volume/ Hi treble removes most of the metalic edge. But I'm finding that Hi tone very useful.

This guitar was built at factory with the Starlas...I thought they were available for purchase off the website?

The closest thing to this sound are the Burns Trisonic pickups...but I like these better, of course.

The Starla treble pup sounds like there is a cymbal continuously vibrating in the background.

There are harmonics all over the place...kind of what I was trying to point out. It is a 'new flavor' in my opinion. When the volume is rolled back a notch, it's Hi treble is tamed somewhat, but I find it reacts differently with every amp I try it in.

i was in st louis for a while and played a mira that looked suspiciously similar to this (and had the same bite) - egnator rebel 20... almost bought both... just mean and big, especially for 'low end' units them both (and Im the owner of lots of marshall / boogie / PRS mccarty already..) almost had some white stripes stuff kinda like your doing with that petty stuff

You say it was it was built with Starla's? I know they have a special deal now where if you buy an american PRS you can change the pickups to anything you want for free. How long ago did you get it? The contours on the body look more rounded then mine? Mine is a very early first run production model so maybe thats why. I definately want to get some of those pickups though very nice sound.
