Also, you want to look at Roger Williams statement of Faith. He was not really a Baptist.
Yes, by name maybe, but he didn't hold to the Doctrine or Baptism at all. I do give credit where it is do. Roger Williams was good man of God but did go sour later on in his life, but John Clarke held true until the day he died. In 1637 a group of Baptists were banned from Boston, John Clarke led that group as the Pastor. They moved to Aqautneck, RI, before going to Portsmouth.

Hello Friend,
Just wanted to correct something, The First Baptist Church in America was not Founded by Roger Williams! It was in fact John Clarke who started the First Baptist Church in 1637. Roger Williams was actually not a true Baptist, and was not even properly Baptized.
Don't believe what i am saying, check it out for your self you will see that what i say Is True

I read that Clarke didn't settle in Newport until 1639 (after leaving Portsmouth, RI), and that's where he started his church at nearly the same time or just after Williams.
