BTW--- this white girl does NOT represent all white people. LOL

Thats a bit too much bacon and jamon... even for most Puerto Ricans. You can use much less and still get the same flavor. Unfortunately, although it is delicious, it is very high in cholesterol. So you dont HAVE to add so much. It'll still taste great and is less damaging to your arteries!! :-)

This is NOT typical. All this grease and bacon fat!! No way! Rice & gandules does NOT typically have bacon in it, much less all this grease. Nasty! Bad recipe.

How 'bout skipping the damn nasty bacon altogether, hmm? Yes, I think so.

Eating that kind of fatty rice is gonna put someone in the grave sooner than you think. All that fat will clog up arteries. So instead of using all that fat bacon which is loaded with Nitrates that cause cancer. Use those Goya bacon flavored packets and you get the same exact flavor you're looking for without all that fat.

First time I see bacon in an arroz con gandules recipe; and by the way that's a LOT of bacon, sorry, but not healthy at all. :(
