the video is about people who are, for whatever reason, not using cell phones. Often seniors prefer to continue with theier land lines and use public phones if they need to make a call when they are away from home. find them very difficult to work and expensive for the amount of use. There is also a need for public phones for tourists.

seniors can get a cellphone

and tourists have cellphones. think about it-do you go travel somewhere without any communication??? and if you don't, then you obviously don't need to call anyone

They're a waste of taxpayer dollars because they just get vandalized and encourage drug trafficking. Why didn't you just walk into one of the many hotels around there and use a phone? Seems kid of dumb to me

I actually do walk to hotels sometimes. This phone was the one close to my house, and served the neighbourhood. The drug traffickers aren't being slowed down by the loss of the phonebooths, it is people with limited mobility and access to alternatives.
