This is first time I have attempted to film the Eurostar and the Javelin trains at speed along the Channel Rail Link, so this might not be the best video in the world for them. But I did manage to get a nice shot of the oncoming Eurostar heading to London St Pancras International. The Eurostar is the UK version of the French TGV built by GEC Alsthom in France and the Class 395 Javelin is the British version of the Japanese Shinkansen train and this units are built by Hitachi in Osaka, Japan. Both of these trains have the AWS, KVB, TVM430 signalling equipment and the Eurostar also has the ATB signalling system for use on the lines in Belgium. The next vieo that I will do here next time will be longer and better, but for now I hope you will enjoy this short but informative video.

  • the CTRL is not shinkansen, we call it CTRL here in Japan, hitachi by the way

  • @jonazuyt: Okay, I know the Class 395 is not a Shinkansen exactly, but it is a cousin to the Shinkansen trains though. I like Hitachi and I wish they would team up with Brush Traction in Loughborough and refurbish the Class 60 locomotives.

  • Awesome! The first "Shinkansen" in a white western Nation. Only Asian countries had Shinkansens (China/Taiwan) until now.. Also Korea is the only Asian country that uses European TGV.

  • Indeed! The "Hitachi" Javelin is very impressive although I do intend to film the TGV and Shinkansen trains in the future and my first TGV videos may appear in mid 2010.

  • @SPS148669 shinkansen is a train from japan

  • @cutemepo1213: Very true. The Shinkansen and the TGV are both great trains. I like them equally the same.

  • @mariodu84 And if you were to film the trains before they had gone under the bridge, and after as well - that would be better, wouldn't it?

    It's a bit weird.

  • @EWS60008
