there is no such thing as a heavy metal scale. you can write music of almost any genre with almost any scale.

@BobbyCrispy It's kind of misleading to call this the "heavy metal scale", or the minor pentatonic the "rock scale". You can write metal or rock with diminished scales, augmented, major/minor scales, or any other scales.
