Alright, another one from my all time favourite band ; this is probably one of the hardest I did. I had to rearrange the bass parts so I could possibly play it, but still made mistakes though. This is again one of those I may redo with more skills. My placement here is somewhat approximative especially on the "verse" part... With my present skills I can't help panicking a little which is not really the way to go to make a really good cover. I also made mistakes in the structure, so I hope you'll forgive me. I still wanted to post this because I don't think someone already attempted this on youtube, so if someone better than I am wants to try this, I'd be very glad to see a really good cover of this song.

I knew it was too hard for me but I still wanted to see what I could pull off, so this is my modest attempt. All parts found by ear by the way.

Kobaïa iss de Hundin !

  • Very good. Not easy to do since 'Maahnt' has two bassists playing separate lines.

(Listen carefully). You missed a couple of critical changes in a very hard line at the beginning, Work on trying to be more in sync with Jannik Top. Other than that, good job.

  • @SuperCartiel Thanks for the constructive advice ! As I said in the description, this song is still above my actual skills... Couldn't really take it in a relaxed, natural way, I was forced to be overly focused, kind of "forcing" my fingers above the velocity I can presently achieve while still feeling comfortable. Downside is that, of course, I couldn't be fully focused on the structure and my rhythm is somewhat approximative. I did several takes, none perfect, this was the best I could do...

  • well done, man!!

take a little more pleasure to send this!!!! your touch (musical "sentencing") will more natural)

i think for the first sentence (musical sentence) it doesn t repeat evry times the last note (the one repeated twice) (from my memory)

thanks to share this and good next ones!!!

    you re very welcome!!

    ;)

  • @Aladin87000 Thanks for watching ! It's not that I didn't take pleasure doing this, it's just that at the moment my skill doesn't allow me to be perfectly comfortable and relaxed with this song. I may try to do a better cover of this in the future when I am more able :)

  • Yeeahh! My boss is looking at me funny because I'm grooving at my desk, lol.

  • @BlimeyGames You'd better listen to the original, it's way better than my cover. :) But still, thanks for watching !

  • @Hamtaahk It was very fine, Hamtaahk. Guys like Top are up there in the stratosphere (it's like me with Christian Vander. I will never be as good a drummer as he is because that guy is a demon of drumming >.<)

Practice and passion are the best ways to get as good as Top, Stanley Clarke and others. Keep at it, man. Listen to groups that have good bassists (Yes, Gentle Giant, Gong, etc.). Study their style, and practice like a beast. You'll get there.

  • yessss good very good ... bravooo

  • Good job. See the Kohntarkosz blog.
