More Info & Demos: http://www.zeromotorcycles.com -- This video features Zero Motorcycles entire electric motorcycle product line in one video. The product line includes the Zero S, Zero DS, Zero X and Zero MX.
Listen to what sounds like a percussion beat at 12 and 19 seconds for example. The Zero actually makes a sound like this every few seconds. No kidding. Must be some electrical thing.
Except that electric motors and batteries have already been around for a hundred years and technology hasnt "taken off"! These are nearly worthless, 10K for a cheap plastic electric bicycle? I don't get it. What happens when you run out of charge on the road or trail? Cant just carry a few kilowatts in a jug on your tail rack. Garbage!
The technology will get cheaper and more reliable, once it evolves and becomes mainstream. A electric motor sports would help to advance the pace. In a few decades, when we have electric engines that run forever with no maintenance, offer a truckload of horsepower for a tiny bit of recharge, and can be replaced cheaply, we'll be looking back at the unreliable, high maintenance, thousand moving parts, gasoline monsters and wonder how we ever managed! Like how we scoff at steam engines now.
Well if you want to tear like a bat out of hell through the backwoods with hardly any complaints from the neighbors... (If you ride at night, they might not even know you're out there. Try doing that with a 2 or 4 stroke dirt bike.) I know people with gas power bikes like ripping on electrics, but this nearly silent aspect is something that could be considered a feature. Probably it's best selling point.
Electric motorcycles beats having no motorcycle I mean gas is going to eventually run out why pay for that when you can use electric cheaper. Yes I know batteries are a limiting factor right now but the more electric bikes and cars out there the more investment in longer lasting batteries and electric generating power cells will come
@BryanConover So what? Do you race 250cc singles with your Aprilia 1000 RSV also? Try racing a motorcycle your own size if you want to impress anyone.
