@TSanMig Wonderful! The tank is running smoothly.. thinking about adding a pair of Gourami's to the tank. I've been told they may get along with the Angels.. only one way to find out!
@GaearGrimsrudd I don't really have an issue with evaporation. Since these lights product little to no heat it is not that big of a concern. I am running a wet dry filter under the tank and it always has plenty of extra water in it so I typically do not have to top off the tank between water changes. I'd rather lose a little water than lose the quality of light as it passes through the canopy.
nice video. I just replaced my CFL lighting on my 10 gallon with the 18" version of this light and I like it a lot. I have a video if you you'd like to watch it. Does it matter that you don't have a glass canopy to aid in preventing evaporation? thanks.
I can't seem to be able to post links.. but do a goggle image search for Marineland Double Bright LED Light Spectrum and also one for light spectrum for live aquarium plants
@TSanMig I don't see these lights being good for most live plants.. they just don't cover enough of the spectrum for it. Maybe if you talk to your fish store that can recommend good low light plants. I think that is probably all that will work for this light. I would guess (I can't quickly find an image on google) that the reef capabale LED lights from Marineland offer much broader quality .
