Except we are damned as atheists. Such bigotry among "believers" its actually quite sickening. We can cure the blind but the methods are illegal in the US because its playing god. We were created in his image then why would we not try to attain his powers by whatever tool necessary. Religion vs Science one will eventually rule or we will destroy ourselves in the process. I see self destruction most likely or a mass intergalactic migration once such means are possible.
