This video shows a pack of 7 wild Eastern Wolves in Algonquin Provincial Park, Ontario, Canada. Watch as the dominant wolf feeds upon the White-tailed Deer carcass and the other pack members interact. More dominant animals (holding their tails high when interacting) dominate subordinate pack members (holding their tails between their legs). At one point a more dominant animal "pins down" a subordinate wolf who "relaxes" until the other wolf departs. Common Ravens (the numerous birds) await their opportunity to scavenge for a meal throughout the duration of the video. This is a sight rarely recorded. Only 5 five wolves are visible at one time, but the whole pack of 7 is in the valley out of the camera's frame.

  • I only ever saw five wolves.....

  • Seven wolves are in the pack and were seen in the valley at the same time, however only 5 appear in the video frame at once. The others are nearby but not visible during this video.

  • @Amidat I just heard from UK Wolf Conservancy, that they have aborted plans to reintroduce wolves back into Scotland. It was too greatly feared that they would travel out of their designated areas. I am sure that is the same reason why plans to reintroduce them back into upstate New York did not materialize. It would be interesting to see if they travel from Ontario into the northeastern states. Oregon and Washington got wolves when they traveled from Idaho.

  • @uphamtimothy - there were too many scared people it seems. I think the plan is to hope they will travel down naturally from Canada... but I think it's long shot (pun intended) because of itchy trigger fingers. Who knows though. I think it would be cool. I think it's more likely that cougars would return naturally - simply because they are solitary. It's known they have passed through NY state in recent times... but doesn't seem there is any bredding... yet.

  • There were plans to reintroduce them into the Adirondack Mountains of upstate New York, to feed on white-tailed deer and beaver there. I have never heard anything more about this plan. Are they still planning to go through with it?

  • thos birds are pretty hardcore...

  • Dammit, those crows are distracting!

  • I show my dominance by peeing right in the middle of the toilet.

  • Algonquin wolves look more like small wolves instead of how red wolves look like big coyotes right?

  • @bordercolliefreak73 No those would be wolves thanks for coming out

  • those are coyotes

  • The birds (huge birds) aren't shy. What kind of birds are they?
