  • One of the assignments for astronauts not on the crew was to serve as capcoms. Especially rookie astronauts. Charlie Duke was one of the best at this, he was a capcom for Apollo 10, 11, 12 and 13. He flew on Apollo 16 and walked on the moon with John Young.

  • they had such cheesy animations in those days. I was a great age to watch this stuff. never missed a liftoff.
