This is the opener from our 2010 show about stress. The soloist is JR, who was awarded best male soloist and best male stage presence at the 2010 FAME Branson festival. Way to go, JR!
The Latin text, very freely translated:
De Profundis clamavi ad te, Domine
(Out of the depths I cry to Thee, Lord)
Exaudi vocem meam
(Hear my voice)
Fiant aures tuae intendentes in vocem deprecationis meae
(Let Thine ear be attendent to my supplication [earnest plea])

There's a feeling so deep within me
A restlessness in my very soul
I feel the stresses of life surround me
I see the world is spinning out of control

I'm not whining, I'm not complaining
I'm hangin' on to the firm belief
That in your power I'll keep maintaining
And in your grace I can find relief

Sustinui Domine
I have waited for thee, O Lord
Anima mea in verbum eius
My soul has relied on his word, so I say

Choir: De Profundis clamavi ad te, Domine
Solo: Out of the depths I cry to thee, O Lord
Choir: Exaudi vocem meam Domine
Solo: Hear the voice of my earnest plea
Clear the darkness so I can see
The way to release the pressure building in me
And from the depths I cry to thee
De Profundis

(Sometimes) Everybody feels a weight upon them
(Sometimes) Everybody has a load to bear
(Sometimes) We're overwhelmed by the strain of living
(Sometimes) We feel the depths of our own despair
But we keep smiling
Though the smile is beginning to crack
And life keeps piling on
Just one more straw on the camel's back.

(Rap:)
Hear me , O Lord and be attentive to my plea
I'm tryin' to find a way to relieve my anxiety
I'm nothing special, I know that we all feel it,
And everybody tries to find their own way to deal with the mess, the stress, the pressure,
The everyday grind that undermines our minds as we try to get by.
Folks are laid off, outsourced or just fired,
They're lookin' for work and they just can't get hired.
Times are tight, no matter how hard they try to get ahead
They still can't manage to feed their kids their daily bread.
Twenty-four hours a day we hear the news and they choose the blues to show us ways we're losin'.
Around the world, everyday a little more, there are people hating people, there are people fightin' wars,
Children going hungry, violence in the street,
And everyday they say the planet's getting warmer frokm the heat.
I'm not crazy, I'm not depressed, I'm just a normal person livin' life with all the stress that life brings,
And so I sing, and testify
That from the depths of my heart I cry
De Profundis
Amen.
