For each of the past 5 years, Joyce Kihlgren has sat along the side of the road near her farm to greet and thank riders and crew of the Minnesota Red Ribbon Ride. In past years, she's personally written hundreds of thank you notes and enclosed them with a red rice crispy bar. They were given to riders and crew as they passed by or stopped in to visit.
This year, at age 90, her children helped make the rice crispy bars and Gramma K's note was posted for all to see.
At the annual Friends and Family night at Northfield Auditorium on Saturday, July 19, Gramma K received a standing ovation and got "Caught" (recognition of thanks) by Ride Director Theresa Fetch.
