  • Very inspiring video. I am going to convert our single car garage to a theater as well. What are the dimensions of your theater? My garage is 14x24 with a 9 foot ceiling height. Will these dimensions work?

  • @Pablissimo2001 Yes, that will work, My dimensions are 11.5 x 18. I just helped a friend build one with the same deminsions as you and it turned out great! With that extra length, you can add a third row of seats or like my friend did, he put a bar with bar stools behind the last row and a little computer area too. I can send pics if youd like.

  • @Pablissimo2001 This was the best thing weve done to our house, it has changed alot since this video with decor etc. Every super bowl, every UFC fight, every big event takes place in this room. I highly recommend it!

  • i mean that it may be hot which can shorten the life time of the devices.

however, i love your home theater. I want to build a similar one because my space is also at this size.

  • I keep the back side open whenever it is in use, I also hooked up an attic fan that blows air into the theater room and sucks out of the laundry room behind the electronics. It is a tight fit but they keep cooler than my other electronics in the other room that are on a shelf. I will probably eventually install some small fans in the cabinet itself. I need to post some pics of the things we have added since, ie movie posters, candy shelf, mini fridge, etc. Build one!, You will love it!

  • Hey vanbytherivernator, I am going to do the exact same thing. I have a few questions for you before we start:

-Which side did you place the screen on? Garage door or other wall?

-How did you secure your garage door before building the wall in front of it?

-What did you use to cover up the window?

-How much would you say this set you back minus the A/V equipment? Building materials??

-Lastly, how much previous construction experience do you have?

    Thanks, Matt

  • What would Batman do? Toss out his Tumbler for an old-timey popcorn machine and Jabba the Hutt sofas, I think not. It's a nice job but I am a garage purist. A stable for my horse!

  • very good job my friend...!!!!!!
