@sergioapuzzo its all about technical schools not colleges... becoming a RN(registered nurse) an a/c repairman and stuff like that... this college shit is a waste. nobody even considers it in my resumes they just want positions filled they don't care as long as a body is present in x poisition and nobody complains is what matters to employers now. im glad i dropped out. My mother has tons of debts from college. govt is taking money frm her check and no she didnt become what she studied for. -.-

@sergioapuzzo sir we have the same name lmfao but i did goto college and it has not helped me what so ever... i went for business administration i attended but never has that helped me get anything in life... even mentioning it in a resume doesn't bring me more credibility for jack. It's not worth it :/ I worked w/ a guy who went for Network Administration(a job i wanted but BA was more in demmand i thaught so i stuided that) and he ended up becoming a security officer on min wage fuck college:|

I've just gotten a tenure-track job and I'm struggling to catch up on my bills because I got so behind when I was an adjunct.

PhD = pretty horrible deal
I got a PhD in Biochemistry and published 6 papers during my PhD and still no decent job, so guess what, I went to med school and had to postpone my life another 10 years.
Please tell the world to avoid higher education in the form of PhDs or Master's - it is actually dangerous for your future - for example I have to consider staying childless since I have no time with med school and being older I get tired more easily. Again please do not do a PhD

Marist College pays part-time faculty that comprise over 70% of the total faculty $2400 per course and you are allowed to teach a maximum of 5 courses per year. Pitiful greed.

I worked for a college for a number of years as an instructor, and I can tell you that she's telling the truth. This has been going on for a long time.
I moved to industry, which pays more, but in many places turn-over is very high.
Face it, folks. If you don't see how "employment" has become "exploitation," you're among those determined to repeat the echoes of a work ethic that's dead, buried, and forgotten in the real world. You're still worshipping at the feet of mere institutions and expect people to sacrifice their souls on the altar of greed, conveniently called "capitalism," of course. What this lady is talking about is true not only in academia but the rest of the "real world" of working, as well.
