Lyrics:
I know I struggle to find
The way to speak my mind
In twenty five words or less
I never have that success
'Cause sometimes I want to say
All the things that I'm thinking about you baby
It's never seemed to work before
I guess I'll try it just once more
So here I go
You're cute, you're sweet, you're soft, you're smart
You fill the gaps inside my heart
You're nice to hold and hard to leave
You're everything that's good to me
I love your hair, your pretty eyes
The way you leave me mesmerised
I guess there's just one thing that's true
Above the rest - that I love you
I'm sorry if I make no sense
The art of succinct compliments
Has never been a skill of mine
But I'll just do it one more time
So here I go
You're cute, you're sweet, you're soft, you're smart
You fill the gaps inside my heart
You're nice to hold and hard to leave
You're everything that's good to me
I love your hair, your pretty eyes
The way you leave me mesmerised
I guess there's just one thing that's true
Above the rest - that I love you
'Cause all I really have to do
Is tell you how much I love you

About this song:
Whilst I love electronic music, it doesn't come naturally. Most of what I write starts acoustic and then gets adapted with different instrumentation. This song, however, is clearly 'natural', and how I'd write without a computer. I was showing Hayley how I'd made The Art Of Succinct Compliments one day, and started playing around with the instruments, turning the synthesisers into 'real instruments' in Logic. Of course, at this time I promptly forgot Hayley and became engrossed in the music, but it didn't matter - by the day's end I had an acoustic version of the song. Of course, this was cheating, and so I later on made the project from scratch, taking new vocals and instruments and changing the key. It's a fresh change to the album opener, and I can't think of a better way than the 40-second instrumental that lies at the end of the song to close the album. With Love From Where You're Not was my masterpiece, and this was the final stroke of the brush, a sweet aftertaste to leave it on. I hope that after listening to the album, and this track, you agree with this sentiment.
i have been listening to this non-stop for the whole evening. your music is magical. keep up on good work, i wish you all the best :)

I like this better than your electronic version for some reason.

@abigailyw I hate this version. Haha. I'm redoing it on my next album. It should be much better then ;)
