1988 - Five Ways to Sell a Vaccuum Cleaner (Part 1)

One of the programs we ran for the South Hills Community Church Junior High Group was the DRAMA Club. We called ourselves D.R.A.M.A. which supposedly stood for Disciples Revealing Another Message thru Acting. Or something like that.

Anyway, this sketch was the cream of the crop. It was called "Five Ways to Sell A Vacuum Cleaner" (taken from the book 'The No-Frills Guide to Youth Group Drama' by John and Liz Duckworth. A great sketch that compares sharing one's faith with different ways to "sell" a vacuum cleaner - culminating in the best way is to demonstrate it. This show was during an evening service at SHCC.

Starring: Vickie Burrill, Nicole Pickard, Derek Burrill, Rachel Hendricks, Scott Williford, Dan Foust, Taya Shippy, Katie Welsh, Jenny Kearney, Ben Orphan, Art Melli, Julie Steckmest, Amy Cook, Evelyn Canevari, Larry Ramirez, and more people whose names I could not remember.

Memorable moments from part 1: Taya's 'Paddington Bear' slippers, the girl (forgot her name) who crossed the stage between scenes, and Scott's guy on a soapbox that stole the show. Awesome.
