A recording of a rare work by Debussy, Cortege, with principal flute Geoffrey Gilbert playing the gorgeous solos. The orchestra is the Royal Philharmonic, conducted by Thomas Beecham. Beecham hired Gilbert when the orchestra was formed. Gilbert was a great flutist and deserves more recognition these days.
Star pupils of his are William Bennett and James Galway.

Enjoy!
