Joe is a Japanese-American who was born in California. He taught himself Japanese and his songs are a mix of Japanese and English. His rock career is currently rooted in Japan and he is perhaps most well known for his single, "Closer" which was used as a Naruto: Shippuden opening song.

in japanese (and many other asian nations), you write family name then given name for name order. So his north american first name is joe, and last name Inoue, but since he is going for japanese audience and is japanese puts his name in the traditional japanese order of Family name then given name: Inoue Joe :D

In Japan they find it respectful to call someone by their family name first then their given name.. Scince he is preforming for an Asian audience then that is why we call him Inoue Joe but if we Americans see him we would call him Joe Inoue.. I sure he would like any way really

@ArtOfSeductionx But what about people from Europe? In Denmark we say "Joe Inoue" but if it's formally we say mr. Inoue (or in danish Hr. Inoue)
