  • Hello, I wanted to thank you for this tutorial (whole, all 18 parts :D) I am a complete beginner and it helped a lot. Now I've finally reached the last part and when I want to apply cylindrical thing the damned program crashes every single time, so I was kinda hoping you might have an idea how to fix that. Never the less, thanks for great tutorial :))

  • @OmniaRain Hey thanks for the kind words. Let me tell you it was hard working creating 18 parts for this tutorial heh, just wanted to add as much detail as possible!! Hope my hard work showed. I can't really say why it crashes for you...I've never had that happen to me but try collapsing your stack and trying uvw unwrap again?

  • I'm having a problem, I guess I missed something, the first time I click on edit the UVW is not the same as yours, it is split from the front, yours is from the back, so i have half of the face the other side and half the other side and middle is the back of the head. How can i fix this please?

  • @gd1gc I think from what I can understand you haven't rotated the cylander cage after you click the 'Cylindrical' method of unwrap. Remember the green line in the cylinder represents where the model will be split. So that MUST be at the back of the head and you should get the correct result.

  • @gd1gc I talk you through it at the beginning from 1minute to around 2mins30seconds

  • can you show us how to animate it?

i really like the way that you explain things

  • @Slackmaster420 Hey, thanks for the comment. I do try to explain things as best as I can :) Also yes is the answer to animate it but I cannot give a time line on it as I have other things to do such as Unreal Editor tutorials :D stay tuned though!

  • @3DstepTutorials :) it was really detailed and helpful and as I said I really appreciate it (especially since you took the time to explain every step, it was really helpful for a beginner like me xD) I've tried everything and anything, forums and stuff, but I can't fix it... now I'll try to find a way around it or sit and cry -.- haha and I'm definitely checking out your other tutorials :) keep up :D

  • @3DstepTutorials yes I didn't pay attention to the green light where it split. Thanks for these tutorials, first time creating 3D modelling and with your neat explanation I managed to do something similar to yours! I'm looking forward for your other tutorials on 3ds max! Thanks a lot!

  • great video series. I learned a LOT from this. I can't wait to try my own project.

I have a question though. why did the ears not turn out as well as everything else? was it because the ear was flat? If so that's weird because the eyebrows were very defined, so I was surprised that it didnt work out.

are you going to continue this series by adding hair?

I really enjoyed watching your series, you explained it all extremely well.
