Max Zweig und Wilhelmine Bucherer Jerusalem

This video is about Max Zweig, a German/Jewish drama writer who had to flee to Israel in 1938. My mother Wilhelmine joined him when I was 16, that is in the year 1969. After the death of Max in 1992 she returned to Switzerland in 1997 and died 9 years later near the family of her son Christof here in Schönbühl.

Diese Video zeigt Ausschnitte aus dem letzten Lebensjahr von Max Zweig, welcher als deutscher Jude 1938 nach Israel fliehen musste. Darin sieht man zuest die Wohnung meiner Mutter in Jerusalem und die alte Wohnung von Max in Tel Aviv. Als Max 1992 starb wohnte sie noch bis 1997 in ihrer Jerusalemer Wohnung und danach bei uns ganz in der Nähe, hier in der Schweiz.

Thank You Christof ! For posting this wonderful video about Max Zweig and your late mother Willhelmine. I knew them both I grew up in that building in 90 Achad Haam street in Tel Aviv. Max was a great writer and his roomate Paul Engelman was an engineer. They both were intelectuals. It was hard to live on that roof but it was much better than to stay in Nazi Germany, Max has created wonderful books in the years 1939-1945 in a peaceful place . Thank You Christof .. A.E.
