http://www.ili.ca A testimony from a student from Germany sharing her experience and thoughts about studying English in the city of Halifax in Canada. The student attended the International Language Institute (ILI) in Halifax.

ILI is the largest and oldest private English-language school in Atlantic Canada. Since 1983, thousands of international students have selected ILI to study English in Canada, to prepare for an English University, or to write the TOEFL or IELTS exam.

The institute hosts students from Korea, Japan, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Germany, Switzerland, France, Mexico, Brazil, Columbia, China, Taiwan, Russia, and many others!

This history made ILI a symbol for internationalization in Nova Scotia. The institute joined the Nova Scotia 'Come To Life' initiative as a charter member, offering its history and expertiese to the provincial effort to attract more visitors and settlers to Nova Scotia.

  • @VanishmentMatt I see your reasoning for the french thing in New Brunswick, but Halifax was established by the British, there's more French influence in Ottawa than Halifax.

  • I personally think the german language is close too the english language myself..

  • Studying English in the Maritime provinces, yeah that makes sense considering they have the largest population of Francophone Canadians, and what English they do speak has a heavy Scottish or Irish sounding accent to it.

  • @Yanceypancey3316

Talk to her :D She will be happy to talk about the "old times". I'm sure, she misses the time in the USA!

  • No shit. When did I ever say that it was in the US?

  • @MarmosetLaLa she had a lot of maple syrup and beer on that canoe trip eh?

  • @Renagade1325 halifax isn't in USA, it's in east coast canada

  • nice accent, I like it

  • @sharkedo20

Some never get rid of their accent and there's nothing wrong with that.

Why should anybody feel ashamed of this?
