what is your opinion on the pinky finger on the grip (both on the backhand and in the forehand), do you think it should be completely on the grip, or can it be slightly off. Because i kinda feel more comfortable with my pinky off, it kinda gives me more snap on my wrist, especially on the backhand. but i feel that my grip sometime moves around when the ball makes contact and twists the racquet around
(could that be because of a too loose grip? how tight should the grip be?)
@armatold In my opinion, keeping the pinky on the grip gives you much more control. I personally don't know of any instructors who teach otherwise, but I'm sure they exist.
I hit the ball extremely hard and I keep all of my fingers on the grip, so I guess I'm proof that you don't need to take your pinky off the racket.
I also believe that the more fingers on the racket, the more muscles in your forearm you're using, which to me, means more power and better grip stability.

I know some really good players do not keep the pinky(or the next finger) on the grip for more power. They probably dont do it on all the shots

@xmm2006mm2006x Yep, and different people have different opinions on it, which is totally fine.
Just an FYI, I choke up a bit when I lob serve. I've heard others say they do as well because it's a controlled stroke.
I guess it comes down to which way suits you best. 8-)
