  • While I agree that male superheroes are also super buff, there's no such thing as "hulk-shaming," whereas there is such a thing as "slut-shaming." So yes, they can be idealized women, that's fine, but they don't all have to wear pasties to kick ass.

  • @tauceti1234 - Obviously. Which is why we took objection to Star Sapphire and the Halle Berry Catwoman costume.

  • I dont care what anyone says. Mr. Miracle's costume is what first attracted me to the character...he is one of my favorites! His action figure is sitting right next to my keyboard here.

Asking this guy about Super hero costumes is like talking to my grandmother about the same thing ...who cares...he doesnt get it. It is people like him that gave us the 1982 Vancouver Canucks jersey.

That being said it is funny though to see what he says though. Love his head nod at 3:46....spatially perplexed

  • @quixote22: Everyone can have their own opinion on Mr. Miracle, that's fair. As for "this guy", Tim is a friend, a genuine authority on fashion and also a fan of superheroes. And as he's never been involved in sports wear, is not Canadian & was a college professor-then-dean from 1982 until a few years ago, I'm not sure what point you're trying to make about him & design. & why not ask grandma? This show is about NO geek elitism. We can all enjoy whether we know Clark Kent's middle name or not.

  • Ok, totally new to this series, liking it so far... oh my Lord how I love Tim Gunn talking about costumes! Catwoman's in particular "Anne Miller" :) Love love love. I am a fan just because you got Mr Gunn to talk to you about this.

  • @mwolfe3508 - Well, when I suggested it to him, Tim loved the idea. And if people support the show, either through word of mouth or donations, we'd be happy to do another team-up.

  • @tauceti1234 I guess we will never know until it actauly comes out.

  • One thing you have to keep in mind: Mr. Miracle is a showman, so naturally he's gonna have a flashy costume.

  • @CrazySexyGeeksSeries You should do an episode with Tim on female superheroes. Wonder Woman, She-Hulk, Rogue, Emma Frost, Silk Spectre, Misty Knight (especially Misty since it's fashion we're talking about).

  • @cryofpaine I'm not disagreeing with you (although I prefer the reason PG just wants to wear what she wants and it distracts male villains as well + she doesn't have a mask so the window draws the eye)...but wouldn't it be more logical to leave the spot blank like some versions of her costume do?

Star Sapphire's costume is an energy construct plus even her naked parts must be covered given how she travels space. I think it looks silly but I'd just like to know...why PG over SS?

  • i think mr. miracle looks pretty cool.

  • The one thing that is a saving grace for Power Girl is that her cutout has a reason. She doesn't feel that she is worthy of carrying the Superman S, so until she does, she's not going to have anything there. Sure there are other ways to accomplish the same idea, but at least it makes sense to the character, as opposed to say someone like Star Sapphire, who looks like a gentle breeze would leave her naked.

  • Wait, Tim Gunn has an interest in superheroes?! He's awesome on Project Runway, and now he just became even more awesome.

  • You and Tim should do a followup looking at the DCnU redesigns.

  • my two favorite things <3

  • I love Tim Gunn and I love Superheroes. This is fantastic. Along with Robin, you guys should have done Batman because Bruce has a million different suits.
