Jane Comfort's AN AMERICAN RENDITION (Missing Person's Report excerpt)

An American Rendition uses integrated text, movement and extended vocal techniques to depict the story of an American citizen who is kidnapped, interrogated and tortured in a secret prison while we distract ourselves with our favorite models, pop stars and fashion queens. Using the remote control as a theatrical device, the company flips from reality (too hard to watch) to Reality Show (way more fun) as it offers up savage parodies of American Idol, Fear Factor, and America's Next Top Model.

I so understand the frustration of this. When she's bouncing between the lines at the end getting desperate it made me a little faclempt. recently i went through a bureaucratic nightmare trying to get some insurance coverage because I was stuck in bed unable to walk for 6 months feeling desperate.
