This remands me of something a great man once said. That if you stray from the path but a degree, given a mile, you will be truly lost... and these guys are truly lost. But the really sad thing is, is that they do not know it.
these guys are awesome - trained this past weekend with these folks and I was amazed at how fluid they are. To say they know how to "use" a katana for what it was intended is an understatement....
in kendo u train with a shinai wich is a bamboo blade,in the matches competidors use armor and strike the head, the hand (gauntlet) and stomach to gain ponts, and shinkendo is with bouken (wood blade) and real katana, the students do learn how to really use a katana, kendo guys know how to swing it but i think shinkendo its better because it s based on real killing movements used in battefields.
I agree with dragonhart. Shinkendo is a combination of the different sword schools in Japan. It was all combined into Shinkendo by Obata Kaiso. He's the headmaster and founder of Shinkendo and the main dojo is based in LA (if I'm not mistaken. I know its in California)
lol dude, this guy is a Shinkendo Sensei. Shinkendo is the actual fighting with the katana instead of just drawing and cleaning of one's katana. this guy is no wanna-be
