A short piece the late Spalding Gray wrote about the day of the 10th anniversary of his marriage to Kathie Russo (Jan. 12, 2000). This was originally work shopped to "possibly" be a part of his final (and unfinished) monologue "Life Interrupted." The monologue is read by Pulitzer Prize winning playwright and Academy Award nominated actor Sam Shepard.

  • @jkweddingentrancesux Thanks. I miss him , his wit, and his unique style of storytelling.I was so sorry to hear that he committed suicide.

  • @hiroguam

yeah, except Spalding is from Providence, RI.

He is VERY New Engalnd. His stories, perspective and accent (which he never tried to lose)

New England is a sympathetic East Coast sensibility along w NY but very diff.

He is a proud New Englander all the way

  • KUDOS !

    Cool stuff man !

    Great.

  • LOL, I did the same thing. "Wait...where's the accent?...Oh."

  • Oh my gosh, I hadn't even recognized Sam Shepard's voice. I was thinking "geez, Gray's voice sure changed as he got older"...I'm a dork. I had thought this was a final recording of Mr. Gray himself! Another case of gone too soon...

  • thanks hostingdude for post . the npr radio testament from rene brings valuable closure to Mr Greys' demise. God bless anyone with a will to testify upon ones' personal progress.

  • Sam Shepard, the director?

  • i've always loved Spaldings body of work, i felt sad and wished for more when he decided he was done. He is truly a great artist
