@rokku87 No, I fully understand that this world is imploding and could take me with it. There are plenty of stories in the Bible that aren't major events and would have no need to be recorded if God wasn't apart of them. A lot of miracles happen in biblical stories too. Our mentality if we are not saved is one of sin. There is a certain verse in the Bible which I can't cite at the moment but it basically says how if you think eating meat is a sin, don't do it. If you don't think that...

@14brad Are you being serious? Are you *actually* saying that God a) exists, b) hears our prayers, c) chooses which prayers to answer (act upon) and d) is fully justified in answering some prayers but not others, i.e. it's totally fine that millions of prayers go unanswered every day?

@rokku87 and as far as the bible is concerned ..just keep in mind everyone else thinks they're just as right about their perceptive god as you are..perhaps more

@rokku87 then it made it in the bible... and no everything bad isn't the result of our sinning nature. Its that mentality thats bad..thinking in such black and white terms. And bad is just a matter of perspective... your sense of bad is different from others anyway. that being said how can you say for example killing animals for food is bad... the Muslims think eating pork is a sin.. but I think its yummy.

@14brad being optimistic helps and if you believe in prayer that gives a sense that the world isn't crashing down on you thus improving your outlook and improving your chances of something working out for you in end... has nothing to do with god. And yes many biblical events have been shown to happen. If a major event happens today its documented... back then it was also documented but instead of collecting data about what happened they called it gods will and left it at that..

@rokku87 ...which don't really matter. God doesn't give you money because you want money, and prayer actually is found to be really beneficial. God answers just prayers but His will is more prevalent than our desires. I'm just gonna say straight up that anything bad in this world is a result our sinning nature. This covers that subject:

@rokku87 You don't think I've done any research into this subject? You think I ignore claims like that because the idea of God makes me happy? No way man! Nobody has proven the Bible incorrect and in fact many biblical events have been proven by archeologists. Why would a people write something which tells us to deny most human instincts? Before knowing God sinning felt amazing why would I give that up? Most people who pray are not true Christians and only ask for monetary things...

@14brad God has never left any physical evidence of his existence on earth .None of Jesus' "miracles" left any physical evidence either. The resurrected Jesus has never appeared to anyone. The Bible we have is provably incorrect and is obviously the work of primitive men rather than God. When we analyze prayer with statistics, we find no evidence that God is "answering prayers. Huge, amazing atrocities like the Holocaust and AIDS occur without any response from God.
