NB: better quality version of this video now at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pZ2Fp2hne3g !

A real rarity, so please forgive the low and variable sound quality!

This line-up of Fairport only lasted 6 months and performed a small number of gigs. They recorded the one LP "Gottle O'Geer", on which half the band didn't play - but they're all playing here! Dave Swarbrick (vcls, vln, autoharp) / Dave Pegg (bs, mandolin) / Dan Ar Bras (gtr) / Roger Burridge (vln, mandolin) / Bob Brady (piano) / Bruce Rowland (drums).

Recorded for Rockpalast (German TV) March 23 1976, see http://www.rockpalastarchiv.info/concert/fairportconvention.html for more details.

The band was usually just called "Fairport" at this time but have the full name in the titles and on stage.

I have a couple more from the show to appear soon, but not the whole set.

  • You're not kidding...had no idea this line-up had been filmed. You haven't any Trevor Lucas clips you've been hiding from us, by any chance???

  • I don't think I have any TL clips lurking, except for a few songs from Cropredy '82 from that official video. Who knows what else I may find generally, though... :)
