  • what tv software are u running id it free or just a tv cable connected to the htpc

  • @hulkzoom Its called mediabrowser (mediabrowser.tv) its free, I also use Windows Media Center for the TV with a Tuner card

  • @hometheatercre8 so i can watch free tv shows on it?

  • @hulkzoom mediabrowser is only an organizer for files already on your computer, you can use a TV tuner to record TV from a HDTV antenna, use programs downloaded form itunes, urottent or a usenet, or you can use it to play episodes ripped from a dvd disc.

  • @hometheatercre8

thank you for the response :)

  • also a Zotac Nvidia 430gt video card

  • @topendspeed My build is not used for gaming and only has 2tb of storage, so your budget is pretty good, you can probably spend under $1000 and get what you need. Check out mediabrowser.tv and avsforum.com for help with your build

  • @topendspeed My specs are as follows:

Case – NMEDIA 2000b atx case with lcd

Powersupply – OCZ ModXStream Pro 600W

    Optical Drive- Lite-On Bluray

System Drive -Western Digital Caviar Blue 6gbs 250gb 7200rpm

    Storage Drives – 2 1TB 7200rpm drives

Processor – AMD Athlon II X2 250 3.0gh dual core with oem cooling

    Motherboard – ASRock 880G EXTREME3 AM3 AMD 880G SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 HDMI

    Memory – G.SKILL Ripjaws 4GB DDR3 1600

    I spent around $500-600 USD

  • how much did that set-up run you??

Im also tryn to build a HPTC, but I get confused, and new prodcts coming out all the time doesnt help. a little help would go a long way.

    Im looking to:

store and view BlueRay Disk, must have HDMI, 1080p, will do light gaming but want really good graphics not only for games but movies also or surfing the net. i7 processor, 4TB min, 500w max. budget $900-1500 with or with out a case. thank you keep the videos coming :)
