Quite simple exotiqueen! In vajrayana buddhism lineage plays a central role. A practice is validified if its lineage of transmission is valid. Mahamudra practice started from dorje chan (first image) and was passed down to the 16th karmapa (last image) then through ones personal teacher (lama) to oneself. The prayer requests all the members of the lineage to heed (khyenno) and assist the practitioner to achieve the state of mahamudra! May all beings be liberated!
