NOTICE: There are some "black" parts to this video near the 8:40 and 10:20 marks, the result of poor recording I think. Please ignore them, the video will come back on.

Watch in 1080p! I spent over an hour rendering and uploading this video to make it look good for the J5 fans, so enjoy it in the best quality. Also, I added some some music as there's no sound to it otherwise. It's somewhat mood fitting -- at least the first song -- but you can just mute it if you don't like it. I figured it'd at least keep you awake instead of hearing silence.

This is one of my reasons to be living and breathing; recreating Number Five from the "Short Circuit" films. I'm a huge childhood fan, and someday I'd like to actually produce one. At this rate however, it'll be when I'm in my later years. Especially considering tool & material cost. And my productivity... :P

I haven't worked on this model in quite a long time, since November or December as far as I can tell. It's as accurate as I can get from going by pictures and little pointers here and there. If I had some official information I could blaze right through it. Only so much can be done by "eyeballing" dimensions!

Most of the information I used is based off of Terry Andrews Jr. and Richard Steeles' fine work. I also used ideas from members from the J5 Builder's Club on Yahoo. Oh, as well as some pictures by WizoJoz.

I get stuck here and there. Some of the trouble I'm having is getting the 45 track segments to fit correctly. The pins that connect the last piece to the first piece (in a loop obviously) are off by some obscure, miniscule decimal amount and it's driving me nuts. That alone really puts me off on the project because I can't get the damned tracks on! Of course, as well as having next to no dimensional data aside from "eyeballing" pictures.

That aside, the last thing I've been trying to work on is flushing out the general shape of the rear caster wheel, which is not shown since it's nowhere near worth showing yet. Making that damned tire in SolidWorks, good lord. I basically end up hitting brick walls, so I just skip to something else to keep productive.

Maybe one day I'll start working on it again.
