This video features DeVotchKa performing "How It Ends" live in their headlining slot of the 2008 Monolith Music Festival at the famous Red Rocks Amphitheater. It was recorded from the festival and arranged by Andrew Mairs.

DeVotchKa's music finds a most surprising yet amazing pairing as developers of arguably the best video game in history have chosen the title track of "How It Ends" to score the trailer for Gears of War 2. Gears of War 2 is the award-winning and highly anticipated sequel to Gears of War, perhaps the most successful Xbox release in history (http://www.gearsofwar.xbox.com). It is a tactical shooting game that challenges users with survival components as well. The story-driven game revolves around revenge as a band of Delta COG warriors return to battle the Locusts. The graphics are amazing, the characters deep, and the gaming beyond anything currently available. The game was developed by Epic for exclusive use on the Xbox 360.

  • I discovered DeVotchKa thanks to Gears of War, but I don't think that makes me less of a fan. I went out and gradually bought their entire discography. It doesn't matter how you discover a band. If you love them, you love them.

  • This song reminds me of a good summer I had with a good person that is no longer around.
